Join Marcela Abadi Rhoads for a discussion of the essential elements of residential accessibility. As a Residential Accessibility Specialist, Marcela has reviewed and inspected several hundred projects to ensure compliance. She will share her wealth of knowledge and boiled-down essentials for residential accessibility standards.
Marcela Abadi Rhoads
Abadi Accessibility has been serving the architectural community as a Registered Accessibility Specialist with TDLR since 2002 under the ownership of Marcela Abadi Rhoads, FAIA RAS. Abadi Accessibility is a certified Woman Owned Business Enterprise in the City of Dallas, and a Historically Underutilized Business in the State of Texas.
Marcela Abadi Rhoads received her Bachelor of Architecture at the University of Texas in Austin in 1991. She became registered as an Architect in Texas in 1999. She attended the Accessibility Academy in 2001 and became a Registered Accessibility Specialist in 2002.
Marcela has reviewed and inspected several hundred projects to ensure compliance with the Texas Accessibility Standards. She has also performed site assessments for many projects and gives accessibility training seminars, including Federal Fair Housing and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act. She is a member of The Accessibility Professionals Association as well as the American Institute of Architects. She is considered an expert in her field and building owners and architects seek her guidance to understand the accessibility standards throughout the design and construction process. She is the author of “The ADA Companion Guide: Understanding the ADA and ABA” and “Applying the ADA” both published by John Wiley and Sons.
