Kristin Mullen
A long-time resident of Dallas, Texas and a native of Tacoma Park, Maryland, Kristin Mullen has always had a passion for interior design, first nurtured by her mother’s love for reinterpreting design trends in their family home. Her design journey deepened when she lived in London, where the city’s classical architecture and timeless interiors left a lasting impression and turned her interest into a lifelong pursuit.
Kristin studied at Northwestern University and New York University, earning a degree in Speech and Language Pathology with a minor in Theater. Her transition into the design world began when she collaborated with a prominent architectural firm on the interior of her own home. This quickly led to her first client project and the founding of Kristin Mullen Designs. Kristin's aesthetic is rooted in classical principles, a love of history, and enriched by global travel, including time spent living in the U.S., England, Europe, and Asia.
In 2021, Kristin expanded her reach into the world of antiques, becoming a dealer at Blue Hills at Round Top, where she curates a collection of storied pieces that reflect her refined yet livable style. In late Spring 2025 Kristin launched her new online shop THE EDIT offering a curated collection of one of a kind product. [ https://kmdtheedit.myshopify.com/ ] The collection features a variety of furniture, home accessories, lighting, art and mirrors, pillows and linens from Europe and the US. Now The Edit makes shopping with Kristin even more accessible.
Kristin’s work has been featured in Traditional Home, LUXE Interiors + Design, Southern Home, Country French, Beautiful Kitchens, and Frederic. She was selected to design a room in Traditional Home’s Hampton Designer Showhouse and has been named to D Home’s Best Designer list every year from 2019 to 2025. In 2021, Traditional Home honored her as a “New Trad,” recognizing her as a rising star in design. Most recently, she was invited to speak at the Dallas Museum of Art’s “Pop of Art” event, where she shared her insights on Regency design.
