Participants will learn:

1. Why lighting tops the list of environmental features affecting both the health and the quality of life of an aging population.

2. The ADA requirements for decorative lighting and how to apply them in the lighting choices for senior living and other hospitality spaces.

3. How to specify decorative lighting that has appropriate foot candle, lumens, and other lighting measurements to satisfy requirements and recommendations of national, state, and local regulations.

4. How to choose energy-efficient decorative lighting that enhances and complements natural light, and learn guidelines to ensure that the lighting needs of older adults are met for both quality and quantity of light.
