Aging Eyes

Led by Michelle Gross and Richard Alan, this course will outline how lighting affects mood, health and well-being and how these affects are magnified as a person ages.  Attendees will learn how to modify lighting design for clients to improve task visibility, enhance visual performance and safety, as well as address circadian rhythm and psychiatric wellness.  Discover how strategic lighting design can vastly improve your client's quality of life as they age.

Michelle Gross has enjoyed a variety of roles in the lighting industry drawing on over 23 years of experience.  Her passion for lighting has provided the opportunity to collaborate with architects, interior designers, electrical contractors, lighting designers, and consumers in delivering solutions for the desired vision.

Recent changes in the industry have brought on a new chapter for Michelle with Richard Alan & Associates as an independent sales representative for lighting and home product manufacturers.

Michelle is excited to be the Vice President of the Dallas IES chapter, an active member of WILD (Women in Lighting & Design) and an ASID industry partner member.

Richard Alan, CLMR is the Agency Principle of Richard Alan & Associates.  Since its inception, Richard's mission for the organization has been to establish long-term business relationships with customers by offering a true source of value.
